3.2 | Why do you wish to obtain a Personal Firearm Permit? (Minimum of 50 words):
It is my Second Amendment right of the United States Constitution to keep and bear arms. I believe obtaining a personal firearms license is essential for my safety within the county.
I work full time through various positions, including contract work with Red County Trucking Company and as a personal taxi service.
I often travel through isolated areas late at night in both positions and I feel this exposes me to unpredictable situations, and the elevated risk of encountering dangerous individuals.
Being on my own for long stretches of time in - sometimes - high crime neighbourhoods such as Blueberry, makes me feel incredibly vulnerable. Having a legally held firearm would give me peace of mind and a means to protect myself while trying to make an honest living.
3.3 | How do you plan to use your Personal Firearm Permit? (Minimum of 50 words):
I intend to use the personal firearms license strictly for self defence. I have no interest in carrying a weapon irresponsibly, or using it for anything other than protecting myself only when absolutely necessary.
My various jobs put me in vulnerable situations, such as driving through remote areas at night or picking up passengers in rough parts of the county.
Having a legally owned firearm would rectify this by knowing I have a means to defend myself if things ever took a dangerous turn. I fully intend to follow all local laws, including proper storage within my private domicile, and to use the license responsibly.

SECTION 4 | DECLARATION OF LIABILITY
It is the responsibility of the Red County Sheriff's Department to include a background check of all applicants for a firearm permit. This check could involve interviews with family members, neighbors, or co-workers, past and present. This check will include a check of your mental and physical well-being both now and in the past. The law allows us to check complete criminal history, which includes local, state, and federal checks. Your signature below allows us to search all sources that contain information that would allow a complete and accurate background investigation.
I also certify that all information on my firearm permit, and this background information sheet, is true and accurate, knowing that any falsified information could disqualify me from obtaining the permit.
I also certify that the Red County Sheriff's Department has the right to revoke my Personal Firearm Permit for any circumstance, with legal authority. If I fail to abide by state laws or any regulations and protocols that are set out by the Red County Sheriff's Department, I hereby consent to the revocation of my Personal Firearm Permit.
